Going after The New Day, of all acts, shows exactly how out of touch you are, and I say that as someone who never liked them at all, even when I was still watching WWE. Who cares if fans think they're entertaining? THAT'S WHAT WRESTLING IS! GETTING OVER IN WHATEVER WAY YOU CAN! You're supposed to present wrestlers that fans want to buy a ticket to see, that they want to buy merch for. If you accomplish that by having goofballs prance around dressed like unicorns, fine! Whatever works, do it. Even if I think it's dumb.

You have become the old man yelling at the cloud. You have become Seymour Skinner, convinced that it's the children who are wrong. You have become Jim Cornette, angrily shaking your fist and yelling into a microphone about how PWG is killing the business, because you simply cannot understand that the business has passed you by. You hang on to the Steve Austins of yesteryear and fail to grasp that the only reason he was even so successful in the first place is because the all planets aligned so perfectly. There will never be another Steve Austin, but that's not because of smarks. It's because every factor that led to Steve Austin simply could never be replicated.

I could've been just like you. I could've lamented the end of the ROH golden years and blamed all the new fans for being too stupid to understand what used to make the company great. Instead, I just accepted that all wrestling companies change and evolve as the business itself does. In another ten years, it'll look very different again. And that'll be okay, too. Fans that don't like it can go somewhere else. And wrestling will be much the better for it.

You can talk down to smarks all you want, but just realize that by doing so, you're effectively saying you want the whole wrestling business to die. And maybe you do, I don't know. Maybe you hate it all so much that you do want thousands of people everywhere to suddenly be unemployed. But I find that pretty repulsive.

One last note. I disagree with scarlet on one point. We're not all marks. We're all smarks. The literal definition of a smark is a wrestling fan who knows it's fake. Nothing more or less. You're in this topic, you're a smark. And that's okay.
