Topic	I need to tell you about my favourite songs and albums of 2017.
thundersheep 12/17/17 9:34:07 PM #9:	Song #3 Foster the People - SHC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUTcLuxiN5w I can already see a running theme in my favourite songs of the year, and it's the fact that many of them can be found in albums I considered to be thoroughly disappointing. There are certainly some great songs to be found on Foster's third LP, even though much of the album features the band doing merely passable impersonations of their favourite influences... But what really soured me on the album was the fact that it's strongest and most unique songs were already featured on the III EP released a few months previous. Case in point--SHC. It feels both fresh and familiar, exactly what you would want a Foster the People track to sound like in 2017. More of an evolution of their Torches era sound than anything from Supermodel but distinctly Foster nonetheless. Great vocals, attractive melodies and oh my god that guitar. It may be the greatest guitar tone I've ever heard. It's about as bright and shiny as you can get without getting into the reaches that cause fatigue. It's bliss, and you owe it to yourself to heard this song on great headphones through a quality DAC. Youtube does not do it justice.
