Well technically it should be evened out because TRE tried doing it with Rydia and that ended up not working out. So it really depends on who the character is and if they have the right backing that year

Don't call it a scheme please. I didn't do anything nefarious. I just noticed early on this year we had some real juice, especially the couple times we "nearly" got eliminated early on at like 3 or 4 votes, and then I was quickly informed by Steiner Esq that we had nothing to worry about, and would have been save even with quite a few more saves. And that's when it hit me. If he had a team of around 8 or 9 every day we'd pick up strength as others went out, so if we could just make top 10 (something Cloud doesn't really do....) I could try and get us a bit of a boost for the final 9 save rounds.... I took a sorta calculated risk, Put confidence in someone else to sustain us till then, and created a plan to help my team. Along the way we picked up Chris and it's impossible to state how much of a boon he was. And yeah, TRE did fail. It takes luck too. As well as having a strong enough team to get you that far. And obviously no one can get Cait Sith in next year and offer round 90-98 saves and think it will work.
But if your character is strong enough, say Cecil, or Squall, etc, it's a valid strategy IMO. You are free to disagree. I don't fault anyone who does.
Mostly it was fucking annoying at literally every single point. ---
