I dont even know how many rounds were put through my M4 before I had it and feeding/ejection issues were rare. I have never personally had one of my carbines or rifles fail to feed / extract / eject, but for someone unfamiliar with firearms in a life or death situation, a shotgun is a far more reliable weapon. Not to mention the immense stopping power (not the mythical knock down power, of course) of 00 Buckshot compared to the 5.56 that was "poking holes" through people (and then possibly his loved ones.) That's not to say the AR-15 is a bad weapon. I fucking love my carbines.
