Seriously though, this was a bone of contention between my wife and I during her pregnancy with our son. I'm circumcised, and my argument is that even if it does cause pain and trauma to the child, they have no recollection of it if you do it early enough. I sure have no memory of it. We discussed this for months, but I finally gave in when she showed me a video of the procedure on a baby. They strap the baby down and it's screaming the whole time :( it's tough to watch.

I worry that he'll get teased in when he's older, but man, I could not go through with it after watching that video.

You made the right choice. I have a 5 month old boy and didn't get him circ'ed. It is completely unnecessary, and over 80% of the world doesn't do it.
And even in America it is on the decline.

And for any woman who has an anecdotal story of how their friend Tiffany did an uncut guy in college and it "smelled funny," I have a news flash for you: your vagina has an odor too. Get used to it, we did.
