I ran into an monster Effie in the arena last week that can prove you wrong. This Effie had Distant Counter, Wary Fighter, Distant Defense from a seal, and a +Res refined Berkut's Lance. She had like 36 in both defenses even before Distant Defense factored in, and she ate through my whole team like a delicious cake. I'm voting for Hector in this too.
