That seems to suggest she was not bigoted like you claim. It's been a year since I played it, but I never felt like she had a particularly strong view about the malaks being tools. It was just something the church told her that didn't carry over into actual practice. EDIT: As opposed to Oscar and Teresa who definitely do act in the way you describe. And she was clearly not willing to do anything because Artorius said so.
