Valerie turns around from arranging some books on the shelf and smiles at you, then runs up behind the counter. Heya, sweetie. Whatcha need? You wave back at them, then take out a pair of textbooks from your bag and lay it on the counter. Just gotta return these overpriced piles of garbage. Valerie giggles. Well, my job wouldnt like it if I agreed with you-- Lucy leans forward. Fuck that, Ill fully agree with you! Valerie rolls her eyes. Anyway, sweetie, thanks for returning them on time. Is it really already the end of the semester? You cross your arms. Yep. Time flies, huh? Anyways, I gotta be someplace else, but it was nice seen you guys again, you say as you wave at them then head out the door. A bit of walking leads you right to the cafeteria, where you see Lily waving at you from a table, alongside Avery whos sitting across from her. You wave back and walk up to them. Good job securing the table, Lily, you say as you take a seat next to Avery. She does a peace sign with her hand. Of course! Now we can properly celebrate our survival through this semester! Avery nods as she slurps on some ramen noodles. You blink a few times. I, uh, expected something more extravagant, to be honest. Lily laughs awkwardly. I totally would throw a party if I could afford it. Avery finishes the last few strands of her noodles, then wipes her mouth and looks at the both of you with a bit of a somber expression. Hey...um, I just wanted to apologize. To both of you. For all the trouble I caused. She looks to the side. Especially to you, Lily. I didnt know you resented me so much-- Lily interrupts her with a flick to her forehead. Being sad is temporarily on the list! And yeah, I wont say its all okay; your obsession was kinda unhealthy. But, I still love you friendo! You smile at her. Wasnt all that much trouble to me, honestly. Avery faintly smiles back at you both without another word. Lily claps her hands together. Oh! she says as she takes out her phone. Lets take a pic to mark this day! You look to the side. Uh, I dont really like how I look on camera-- She already got up and got behind you two, leaning forward with the phone framing all three of you. We gotta cherish these moments, Walky! After all-- Flash. --Thats what friends do, right? You admire the moving scenery of the city as you sit at the front of Bubs car. Thanks again for the ride, man. How long are you visiting for? He glances at you for a bit but keeps his eyes on the road for the most part. Probably for a while. Travelling around the countrys cool and all, but you really cant beat home. You chuckle. You wanna call this shithole home? He shrugs. Beats Hell. Fair enough. You look to the back seats. So, what happened with them? you say as you point at Kryden and Phoebe, both passed out. You notice theyre dressed in business suits. Well, lets just say they had too much to drink. Rough day at work, apparently. He chuckles a bit. But dont worry, Ill drop you off first since your stops closer. The drive continues on mostly in silence. You take in the scenery and ponder on everything thats happened. The city always seemed small. Even now, it still seems small. Everyone goes about their days without much consideration of whats really around them. That what could be around them might be Angels or Demons or whatever supernatural phenomenon. But thats none of your business. Bub pulls up the car to a familiar apartment complex.
