If you're in a super light drop zone there's very little to do early. I think melee mechanics being a bit more snug would help a lot with the scrambling issue since there'd actually be a bit more of a risk of getting punched dead if you just run for a gun and ignore everyone. Also the melee weapons are garbage because of the melee mechanics being garbage. I'd like to see those improved at minimum even if punching continues to suck.
