The first time i picked it up it felt weird and way too actiony.
I bet people would've been a lot less harsh on RE6 if it hadn't been a Resident Evil game.
RE5 showed a pretty jarring shift away from horror (at least RE4 did it with the atmosphere, though still moving away from the old gameplay style) and RE6 was even further away. People wouldn't be judging it against the whole series.
I can accept actiony RE6. I even kinda liked RE5. But RE6 was an incredibly mediocre shooter and action game.
Even in the Japanese front Vanquish and Binary Domain are significantly better shooters. RE6 was a bloated mess. If it wasn't tied to a big franchise it wouldn't have made any impact at all.
Binary domains good although it feels like gears of war. Vanquish is ok. ---
