Coming out of high school, I was a lot like her. Really smart, decent grades, been told my whole life "you have to go to college." I said fuck that and didn't - became a secretary in the military instead. Ended up where I am today as I figured it out. Elite employer, six-figure income in 30s, zero debt. Government paid for both my degrees.
