Neither side campaigns against preventing illegal votes. Its just that one side wants to block LEGAL votes (and theyve outright admitted this), and the other side wants all legal citizens to be free to vote if they so choose.

The reason conservatives dont try our common sense solution (providing free government IDs to all legal citizens), is obvious to anyone with critical thinking skills. By picking and choosing which IDs are acceptable and limiting the accessibility of those acceptable IDs, they can prevent more than JUST illegal immigrants from being able to vote.

Hell, even the base logic is asinine if you look at all the pieces as a whole. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 3 million votes. Trump claims that there were three million illegal votes cast (later changed to six million). Im order for either 3 OR 6 million votes to be illegal, you have to believe that democrats were able to pull off a highly complicated voter fraud scam involving millions of people (in which it took a year and a half just to catch FIVE PEOPLE)...but you also have to believe that theyd be dumb enough to stack all of those votes in a solidly blue state like California, rather than any of the MANY swing states Hillary lost (or states with contentious senate races).

The more logical explanation is that you make up voter fraud claims in order to deny your unpopularity, while also providing a faceless enemy to blame whenever the need arises. This allows the enactment of laws that directly hurt people who legally voted against you, as an added bonus.
