NEW TIER! "Really Good Games"
The games I have only a few complaints with. Would recommend almost anyone get any of these.

10. Steamworld Heist
This was a pretty shocking turn for the Steamworld series, but damn, it was pretty fun! Steamworld Heist is a 2D turn based strategy game in the Steamworld universe. While that is kind of interesting in and of itself, the game still retains a light action element, as you have to aim each shot you take, and everyone's aim is a little shaky. So rather than simply selecting "attack", there is a bit of tension before each shot, which probably adds more to the game than anything else.

You have several different characters to choose from, that have a few different abilities, and you also can customize a few accessories and their weapon of choice as well. So I was able to outfit one of my weaker characters with a laser sight, which made long range aiming waaay easier. I was able to equip my up close and personal character with health upgrades too. None of this is particularly deep, the level up system is super shallow, and also makes it hard to go away from characters you start off with, but it does enough to give you a few decisions to make, and to keep you motivated to get a perfect rating on all the levels to get more money and loot.

I thought the game was very well balanced as well, it is difficult at times, but never overly so. I think either a decent story or a bit more depth outside of battle would have made the game tougher to put down, I tended to just play a few battles at a time, but I still was pretty entertained throughout. It's simple enough, and the light action element means that even if you aren't huge on strategy games, I think you can likely have fun with this one.
