If it's the latter, I'd advise you to not buy any packs from the Whispers of the Old Gods or Mean Streets of Gadgetzan sets because they'll be rotating out of Standard in less than a month. One Night in Karazhan is an adventure you can buy and it'll be rotating out as well. You'll be able to purchase it later with real money but the option to buy it using only gold will become unavailable when it rotates out of Standard unless you purchase the first wing beforehand. Those 3 sets/adventure will still be available to play in Wild mode, where all the cards are legal, but if you're just starting out and don't have a collection, I recommend Standard as the way to go, especially with a rotation coming up. It's a smaller investment in the short-term. If you're buying any packs, though, Classic is the way to go when first starting out because those cards will always be legal to play in all modes. --- The final Undisputed Champion in UCA history. ...
