I know in discussions, a lot of people downplay that strategy because she's supposed to be refreshing, not buffing. But when I use her, there are always opportunities when it's worth it to attack. I usually use it for her own survival. Basically, if there are 2 mages in range to attack her, she has a high res, and I have the summoner support on her, so she survives the first wave and pretty much doesn't take damage from the 2nd wave of attack (and usually gets the kill on the 2nd wave of attack due to the massive buff). It takes a bit of calculation But if there is another ally in range, it's an added extra bonus. Enemies attack Ninian first more often than not.
