Life is Strange beated. Guess I'll start with what remains of my summary before moving on to more general thoughts.

Nightmare sequence was pretty cool. Though, I think it was better at the beginning. It felt the strongest then, with the Classroom and Dorm Maze. Think a lot of it was because of the changed examine points in the Classroom and the various graffiti in the dorm. Once it moved to Backwards land and MGS it wasn't as compelling. Shout outs to the diner though, that was great too with all the people there and Evil Max.

Then, of course, the end. I don't think it's any surprise reading my thoughts so far that Max sacrificed Chloe. The alternative wasn't even an option. Ending cutscene was good, especially the re-enactment of the bathroom scene, pretty powerful watching Max forced to sit helplessly and just listen and react.

Okay, so general thoughts I suppose...

Life is Strange was a great game/experience, I'm glad I played it. I'm a sucker for high school nostalgia, time travel, what-if regrets, and Max's sense of humor so it pretty much couldn't fail. (sorry leon i feel like i always let you down.) We're not talking like all-time great or anything, but definitely fairly high-tier.

Again, Max was by far the best character IMO. Her sense of humor, and more powerfully, her struggles and insecurities - especially seen through her journal entries - really resonated with me. Chloe was fine (i'm so sorry leon) she definitely improved as a character, both in terms of likability but also in general from Episode 4 on. I feel David being slowly rolled out as a more complex character as the episodes went on was good too. It was a real slow roll but it paid off very well in the end, particularly in the Dark Room rescue and the ensuing conversation with him. Frank is similar in that regard, but a lesser version due to not as much screentime. The Blackwell students had potential - Dana, Kate, Brooke, Stella all have moments or signs that there could be a lot more there but you really don't interact with them much. Kate the most, but it still feels like less than David or even Frank.

Love the rewind, conversation, and info-gathering mechanics and their interplay. Wish there was more of it, and there is still a fair amount. Music was pretty good too, I think I've noted my favorites here and there as they appeared.

I'll expound a bit more on the ending because I feel it was a bit... flat? Abrupt? Now, granted, I think Sacrifice Chloe pretty much has to be the ending, so it's no problem with that... it's just... it feels like there's no true build-up to it. Now, it's obvious to the player that the storm and the weird phenomena are the result of Max messing with time... but it feels like the characters never really grapple with this much. Warren at the diner points it out (and side note he was... weird... in that whole convo) and Samuel seems to know somehow. But though Max's nightmare and especially nightmare journal touch on it, you ultimately pop back into reality and the whole thing is talked out by Max and Chloe in about 30 seconds and then the choice pops. I just feel like that could have been handled better. Either with it having been a subject of discussion throughout the game on occasion, or a more extended discussion where it did pop up.

oh noes character limit.

Uh, so if anyone wants anything specific/in-depth from me, or questions about choices or anything really, feel free to ask.
