I watched FMA '03 (I have issues calling it the 'original') well before Brotherhood, so my perception of the two might be skewed. Brotherhood should be watched either way IMO since its ending is so much more cohesive, but I remember missing the extra development we got early on in the story, Also, Leonhart generally prefers shorter series if you want to keep that in mind with your recommendations. shorter anime are definitely easier, but you only need to start with the first 6-8 of most long-runners! --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ...
