I was just getting into anime and I was interested in Naruto but I opted for the manga because of the length. Anyway, I have a lot of nostalgia for it, especially pre timeskip. Like ange, I was never into anything post timeskip as I was pre but I didn't think it actually got bad until after the Pain arc.
