Momoland has had 1 song anyone cared about, id hardly call them popular until we see if they can actually make anything out of it or if they fade away like crayon pop after bar bar bar

momoland has a hit song, and 3 popular members. jooe has like 5 solo CFs now.

crayon pop had a hit song and, 'i don't recognize them without the helmets'. plus chrome ent. was mad incompetent.

i like momoland's chances a lot better.

lets be real, jooe is a one note meme that is bound to play itself out relatively soon and yeonwoo and nancy arent well known to the public and arent exactly pulling in the type of crowd who end up as loyal, money spending fans. Do they have a better shot than crayon pop? sure but what i said still stands, its one song that caught some momentum, its meaningless if they cant follow up and judging by their album sales it hasnt exactly brought in a ton of actual fans so they will be relying solely on the public to stay relevant. And even if they do have any sort of decent response for their next song it still wouldnt put them on the level of groups like twice, rv, bp, and mamamoo.

25,000 people showed up to their events in Japan. Their albums sold out everywhere. There were massive lines and queues of people to see them.

Momoland has been consistently a top girl group in brand reputation with multiple members appearing in and even topping the individual girl group member brand reputation index.

Bboom Bboom isn't just a hit song; it's a super hit song. It has over 100k likes on Melon, is still winning music shows and the MV will be the first girl group MV to pass 100 million views.

Unlike Crayon Pop, the group has way more members to stan and is bringing in a ton of international fans, as evidenced by the youtube views.

If Momoland has another hit song, they are well on their way to becoming a top girl group.

You can't watch that and think they're going away any time soon.

The girls even made CBS Evening News! Lmao

They're no Crayon Pop.

First off I never claimed that they were Crayon Pop just that they have the potential to be, and again, even if they do find a way to ride some of this momentum they will be square in the mid-tier with groups like Lovelyz. All those accomplishments you listed are impressive for a low-mid tier group but dont come close to putting them in the same league as the actual top girl groups. Just ask KARD where having a ton of international fans and a paltry Korean fanbase got them. I-Fans are really great at pumping up Youtube views but thats about it, I-fans are notoriously stingy when it comes to actually buying albums or paying for downloads or actually supporting an artist. Also its great that 25000 people came to see them in Japan but that lead to a grand total of less than 5000 albums sold between their japanese album and their korean album, not to mention their korean sales didnt rise at all once their song went viral, in fact half of their sales from their latest album in korea are being investigated for chart manipulation. They arent making actual fans, they will solely rely on if the korean public happens to like their next song to stay relevant. The only GG to stay successful with no fandom was Sistar and they are no Sistar.
