Scum's Wish is an anime I have a lot of trouble placing on my own ranking because it's 95% really good but the bad 5% manages to ruin it for me. I know we've talked about this before but I felt that Akane needed some small loss but instead she got literally everything she wanted. I know you interpret the marriage as a downside for her but I dunno, she seemed happy with it and she wasn't exactly giving anything up for it so I view it as a win. I would have been happy with something as simple as Mugi leaving her of his own volition but even there she was the one breaking it off and leaving him pining for her even though she was a thoroughly vile person. Ah well, I guess I just prefer more karmic justice in my fiction. ---
