Good to know.

*slams head against pillow*

There really isn't any "cure" for the cold. It's all symptomatic treatment. Even the "antibiotics" doctors give you don't do shit but make you feel like it's going to help you, which does thanks to placebos. But the only thing that has any chance of helping would be antivirals. And you don't want to just dole that out willy nilly. None are really effective, and even if it were effective, you'd want to limit use to not create a cold virus that has resistance to antivirals.

Best way to beat the cold is to just rest, get your fluids, try some exercise, get a humidifier if you need it, that's all really.

The same stuff you'd do if you had the flu. Just deal with it for a week. The worst you can do is NOT get your fluids/electrolytes. Drink up dat pedialyte, the more time you spend having a lack of resources for your body to fight the cold, the longer you'll be sick.
