Frankly, this is a canard trotted out by socially awkward people who refuse to face up to the fact that behavior they view as innocent can make women feel very unsafe.

While it's nice that you've stated your opinion as fact, it's hard to argue that it isn't a commonly observed phenomena to see an attractive person do something and have it be perceived positively whereas a less attractive person doing the same thing gets negative results. It could also be argued that women are overreacting to innocent behavior, but that gets into some murky territory.
