HxH is like...it's in that ASOIAF vein where a lot of the time, it confuses edge for maturity, and it pisses me off. It takes way more effort and artistry to do mature things without resorting to shock value and apathy-inducing darkness and I dock it a ton of points for going for hamfisted approaches over something actually nuanced and subtle.
