I don't really go out of my way to look for them, though, so unless I see them in Wal-Mart or Barnes & Noble, I usually have no idea which ones have been released out of the 70000+ out there.

tbh, their release schedule is fucking insane. Plus every store seems to have exclusives (saw a Juggernaut in Walgreen's, but the packaging was fucked up so skipped that) and there are an absurd number of ways they're released.

But all of that sort of misses the entire point of Funko Pop figures anyway. They're designed as an overly stylized design that can incorporate almost any aspect of pop culture. They're basically nostalgia in plastic form. They're not really supposed to look like exact replicas or complicated models of what they're referencing, as much as they're supposed to look like simplified representations that have a similar style (allowing them to all relate to each other), while still being recognizable as the thing they're based on, and even potentially being abstract enough to border on being modern hipster art. They'd actually lose a lot of their appeal if they were far more detailed or complex figures.

Plus it's not like Nendos are absurdly detailed anyway. The vast majority of their faces are fairly similar (ie, not distinct to the character) and the fact that their parts are interchangeable between figures (ie, the faceplates fit other heads, heads can be mounted on other bodies, etc) -- which is often used as a selling point -- makes them seem somewhat generic, the same as Pop!s.

As for Nendo specifically, as far as I can tell, Nendo figures are apparently obscure as fuck (I literally never heard of them before this post)

I know I've mentioned them at least a few times in these topics >_> And, while it's generally an import, they get an okay-amount of coverage and can have shelf-space at places like Gamestop.

And, speaking of previous mentions, either I missed a defect on my bootleg Nendo Pokemon Trainer Red's main faceplate, something scoffed it, or the plastic mildly warped due to sun exposure, but there's a mark between the eyes now. Kinda annoying, but I was going to geek out and take photos of him on trails while hiking so he was going to suffer some damage eventually anyway. (Plus I paid like $13 shipped for him, whereas the usual MSRP is something like $40 or $50).

95% anime-based (as far as I can tell from what the Internet is telling me),

Yes, basically just anime and gaming. And even then it's mostly females, the same as the company's other lines.

Better save this from going away, even if it's mostly done at this point anyway.

Time to start thinking of new titles for the next one?

Also, going to get hit with a baby hurricane on Monday night Tuesday morning. Hurricane season starts June 1st officially, so this is going to be a long horrible simmer for hurricanes down here.

But global warming is a myth right?

...not every weather event is attributed to global warming. Tornadoes and hurricanes predate factories.

ParanoidObsessive posted...
To be fair, hurricane season goes in cycles, and tends to alternate between periods where hurricanes are rarer and weaker, and periods where hurricanes occur more frequently and with greater force. We've known this for decades, and as early as two years before Katrina hit meteorologists were talking about how we'd been in a particular calm period, but were about to enter a much more energized period where we were going to see a lot more strong storms.

Kind of like how the longest summer is followed by the longest winter... or so the superstition goes.
