Topic	Tom reads through the Bolo Family Manga Collection (spoilers)

Doesn't look much like my kinda thing, but I've thought that before and been wrong! It's got a girl with a sword at least, and some sorta demon butler or smth, but on the other hand I have seen a gif of Blood-C that ensures that is not a thing I am ever gonna watch. (Wifebolo assures me that she doesn't like that one either) There are three different headings within our Blood+ collection, and I have put Wifebolo in charge of making sure I get to them in the right order. I think the other two are spinoffs or something, and this appears to be the main (and longest) one. I don't actually really know what I'm getting into here! Something about 'Nam and swords that drink blood and the guy plays the cello and a minor character needs to marry his girlfriend because they're cute. Saya Otonashi is here to fulfill the trope of being late for anime high school, with the twist that she keeps having bad dreams and hallucinations. She's got a brother (?) Kai, and a kid sister (?) Riku, and she does track stuff. Saya can only remember the past year of her life, which I guess is common knowledge. Cut to a buncha intel-lookin' people reporting to a young Dracula cosplayer named Charles, which is disorienting because that's my real name and not one that shows up too often in Japanese anything. We get some Evilly Vague Exposition about trying to find two "mice." Quick cut back to school, where Kai's fan club is out to get his (adopted?) sister. After a trip to the hospital so Boobs McGee, MD can give Saya an IV, we save Riku from some bullies and establish that none of the three are blood related. Also, a guy who is probably not a main character is wandering around with a coffin. Saya's getting annoyed with the whole amnesia thing, and runs into Coffin Man, who is playing a cello. Vague hints are dropped that they're connected and he's been looking for her, and Saya has some sort of power people are repressing. Charles is on the trail of...probably Saya, and Kai gives her a peptalk with multiple hard headbutts. I like Kai. Some government types want Saya back from her dad, but George the Dad doesn't wanna. A Hollow shows up a day late to the Bleach party, and almost has Saya killed before Cello Man makes the save with a sword. Those things are called Chiropterans, and only Saya can kill them apparently. Cello Man administers some sort of blood-related kiss, and Saya is able to trash the beastie real quick. Charles mentions that "the call of one of the mice has been extinguished"- kinda assumed he was the monster, honestly. Also worth noting is that there's an American flag wherever his base is. Saya has no memory of this incident, and Riku's hurt badly. Time for the government to take her back. David of the Red Shield informs her that she is the only thing capable of killing these vampiric Chiropterans, and demonstrates that she's able to tank a point-blank gunshot to the chest. He wants Saya to go back to her monitor/family until we can figure out what the US is up to with the Chiropterans.
