When last we left our heroes, Charles was about to open up a can of whoopass on them. He's disappointed that Saya isn't fighting at full potential or remembering him, as he's been looking forward to this grudge match for a while. It takes both Haji (I'm told that this is the proper way to romanize his name even if it's not official) and Kai to get her away. People keep calling Charles a Chevalier. We get a random shower scene and some daddy-daughter time that includes a flashback to when they first met.

They kidnap Riku and take him(?) to Vietnam, leaving a note written in blood on the late Dr. Boobs McGee. The mysterious bad guys dispatch Solomon to get Charles under control. The gang heads to Vietnam in pursuit, and while investigating the blue rose left as a hint, find a girl who might be able to give them a lead. Also Haji facetanks a semitruck. Apparently Vietnam is tied to both Charles and Saya's backstory. Solomon roughs up Charles a bit. (apparently he used to be called Carl, but left that name behind as well as the Chevaliers) The village where they get blue roses is tied to the backstory as well, and the bad guys seem to represent a pharmaceutical company that is drugging the populace and bribing them to do...something.

Looks like Riku is working her(?) charms on Charles unintentionally. Mui, the girl we found earlier, catches wind of the villagers' plan, and tries to escape with Saya, at which point we find out that she can also hear the sound that summons(?) Chiropterans. Scratch that, it turns Mui INTO a Chiropteran, although this apparently isn't normal, as people compare it to the Vietnam War. Probably the bad guy drugs! David takes a hit, and Saya decides to accept her old memories so she can fight at full power. She's already got a lotta PTSD going on and I can't imagine it will get BETTER, poor thing. Solomon is enjoying screwing with Charles, especially now that he seems to have some level of feelings for Riku. I can't entirely tell whether Van the Sidekick is loyal to Charles or Solomon. Saya whacks the Chiropteran Formerly Known As Mui, with expected levels of unhappiness about it, and we find out that this "Diva" that has been mentioned a few times in Cryptic Villainous Strategy Meetings is Saya's sister.

My rating: 8/10
Good character development here I think as we solidify the dynamics a bit better...but we'll see how that changes now that Saya has fully awakened to her stuff.
