For most of the history of farming, we've had farmers attempting to modify plants through selective breeding so the idea that genetic modification is in itself bad is just silly. If we hadn't modified plants and animals, the human race would likely still be fairly small (which might please you) and we'd be living in a relatively primitive state because more effort would be put into just keeping us alive. As for your claim about population growth, that's just flat-out wrong. The growth rate will likely reach equilibrium at some point (and it's likely it may fall for a bit after that before stabilizing at a somewhat lower number, which I'm sure will please you to no end -- but, given that it might be 100 years out, you'll likely be dead by then) which kills your dire predictions.
