You shouldn't boycott a company based on its DRM policies.

Good games are made by developers. DRM is put in by suits. If Rayman Origins flops, Ubisoft will likely not make another classic 2D platformer and cut some of the developers, rather than reconsider their DRM policies.

I'm playing the game right now and it's definitely a solid platformer, although (like DKCR) it does kind of have the feel of a budget game in non-gameplay-related areas, opting for a stylistic form of graphics, animation and audio rather than a rich one. That said, budget games are in reality the best thing the game industry can do for itself, rather than forcing themselves to rehash crap because development costs are too high to do anything different ever. And the singing fish levels and such make up for the otherwise simpler music.
