Part of it was breaking down, sure, and I'm sure the pain made him dial it back, but like there are flashes of his old greatness even after 1993 when he was motivated, but they were rare times indeed. Whereas Kurt never gave up. He just pushed and pushed and just utterly fell apart and we got to see it in action. Perfect is kinda the smarter version of Kurt if that makes sense. Though he probably had even worse drug problems than Kurt given his early death so probably worse in some regards of being smart. Very similar though yeah.
