Maybe the reason they're afraid of rape charges is because some of them aspire to be literal rapists. You're defending people who go on forums and ask why drunk girls can't consent, or pose as a woman so they can figure out how to get away with drugging and raping women. Those are more extreme examples, but even pretty tame incels still feel like they are owed and entitled sex. Many of them celebrate violence against people solely because they're jealous they had sex.
