It's literally behavior involving physical force intended to harm. If your argument is that it caused no lasting damage, the same is true of a weak shove, slap, etc. And legally, any *physical* contact can be grounds for an assault charge. https://www.taylorlawco.com/blog/domestic-assault-and-battery--it-does-not-take-much.cfm It does not take a whole lot to get an assault charge. The law defines assault and battery as an unwanted touching that is done in a rude or angry manner. It can be as simple as shoving someone, blocking their way, spitting on them, grabbing someone's arm, throwing something (liquid or otherwise) at them, or even grabbing something out of their hand. Assault and Battery does not always mean someone was hit or punched. Remember, it does not take much. Mead posted... If youre yelling at someone in their face unprovoked and refuse to leave them alone when they ask you to, yes that is illegal So pretty much every protest group should be locked up, right? At any rate, it's a dangerously low standard but, in a nation where having a lot of cash on you warrants government confiscation, I can't say that I'm surprised. KaptainKiro posted...
