Oh lawd, I guess there's some big opinion piece that purports Trump to be a Manchurian candidate working under Russian orders since 1987. Just when I thought the Red Scare couldn't get any sillier.

Caught the NPR rebroadcast about it this afternoon which very gently damned it (but not too lightly, because they have to stoke those fears), although at least one commentator was rational enough to point out that *any* contact with Russia is automatically being viewed with suspicion and iirc may have suggested that the current hysteria is worse than McCarthyism.

Kind of like those rallies people prepared just in case Bush didn't step down at the end of his term? >_> I guess if people get outraged well in advance they'll be able to hold onto that outrage longer, even if nothing happens.

And the issue wouldn't be Rosenstein anyway, it would still really need to be about Mueller. If Rosenstein leaves and Mueller continues, nothing really changes.
