They think Sam is Christmas's relative and that's why she likely has a power out of the gate. "It's just unfair!" "The integrity of the game is compromised." "What's the point in even trying if it's heavily slanted one way?" It's this attitude of what's deserved. An entitlement. All circling around an incorrect speculation. On and on. They also think so many others don't deserve the money, they don't NEED the money. Scottie: "I'll only have $100 before my stipend once I leave this house." Scottie: "Winston is only 2 years older than me yet he doesn't seem to be troubled with money." They think he's a doctor, mind you (which he isn't). "Brett doesn't need the money." "Angela doesn't need the money." "Tyler spent 6 months living in Australia, plus he was recruited to be on the show!" (He wasn't, but they'll never know that). Clearly Tyler doesn't need the money.
