Trial by jury is a far fairer system and less prone to shenanigans 6-12 people with no stake in the proceedings are automatically less likely to be corrupt. You have to be pretty bad with sense not to see that >_> And the 12 laypeople work to the defendant's advantage, ensuring that the innocent are less likely to wind up in prison; likewise, the 6+ are more likely to render an impartial verdict in civil cases. ifnsman posted...
