The problem is that 50% of what you hear is dominated by that headphone, whilst the other ear tries to listen to the conversation. Mall music doesn't hinder anything the same way the noise of traffic doesn't hinder anything, you could transcribe a video whilst mall music played in the background, but you couldn't transcribe a video whilst talking to someone, at best your attention would be constantly shifting between the video and the conversation. --- Just how, pray tell, does your dick "take life"?
