I don't give a shit about humans in a Godzilla movie. The human side of the plot in Godzilla movies is sometimes interesting to follow. The problem with the first Legendary Godzilla was that they focused on it a bit too much. Hopefully Godzilla and the other kaiju get much more screentime in this one. I think another problem is that ~~they killed their most interesting human and gave the second most interesting zero lines or screen time~~. And the human drama that followed was disconnected from the monster plot. In Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster, Mothra vs. Godzilla, the MechaGodzilla movies, Biollante, etc etc. The human stories are inextricably linked to the plot and lore of the monsters. Cranston's son was basically just some guy doing actiony things so humans would get screen time.
