In most of the world: no tipping cause they are not stupid.
In the USA(I am a US born and raised citizen): we need tipping cause we get fucked by the restaurant, hotel, etc business and tipping culture was created to romanticize people wasting money to fill in the rest of the persons paycheck.
Tipping is really fucking stupid, people in these fields need to stand up and demand fair fucking pay or find better jobs.
Time for a truth bomb:
The people in these positions will never unionize for two massive reasons.
1. The employers will fight it tooth and nail.
2. People who work for tips make better money than most average min wage workers and report less in taxes which allows them to keep more of their money so they can just scrape by. If they unionize, it means they'll have to pay more taxes because of the increased representation in government.
2 is practically the main reason. People who live on tips actually do very well most often. Servers I have worked with in the past cleared $200+ a night over the course of a 6 hour shift. ---
