I gave up after a few episodes. Simply because the brother constantly protesting everything annoyed me. And I'm rarely picky about minor details like that. He ruined it for me. I'll eventually give it more time. To echo what others have said, you're severely missing out if you're letting your first impression of Sokka drive you away from the show.
