Well if you dislike Mecha anime, you'll like darling since the mech fights are more like short breaks between character Development and plot advancement I don't hate mecha anime, I just really prefer mechs that are mechanical and not some weird supernatural thing. Though, I can like those kinds too, but I prefer the mechanical kind.
