People who oppose tipping are people who simply don't understand how money, business, or economics in general work and think that if there was no tipping, the only result would be that you didn't have to leave a 20% service fee. You know, the type of people who voted for Bernie Sanders actually believing that everything should be free.

Scenario: You wake up early one morning and want to go to the diner for a cup of coffee, some toast and an omelet to... I don't know, think about life before starting your day. You order, your food is served, you finish, and ask for the check.

Tipping: The waiter drops off an eight dollar check and you tip them 25%, and you pay a total of ten dollars. "Omg exploitation of labor! Corporate greed! Leeching off the consumer!"

No tipping: The waitress drops off a ten dollar check, eight dollars for the food and two dollars to cover wages, and you pay a total of ten dollars. "That's social justice. That's a living wage. That's power to the people!"

Hint: When you go out to eat, there's actually TWO contracts there. One between you and the house, for the food, and one between you and the waiter, for the service. ...you're going to pay for the service either way. Go try living in a country with no tipping. When I was living in Germany and Italy the service was miserable.
