While I've visited a couple of places over the years (Hawaii is the most memorable) I can't afford to take trips that often; so end up having to listen to my coworkers brag about their trips (such as Germany or Italy or a cruise in the Caribbean). To me it smacks of desperation since, when they aren't on trips, they're so bored that they watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians and other reality tv programs instead of doing other things like taking up a hobby or getting involved in the community. Too many people trying to lord it over others that they're so much better than the neighbors but it's all a cover to mask how cut off they are from everyone else.
