And some studies have suggested that the ideal amount of sleep for working-age adults is actually 6.5 hours, including ones which studied modern hunter-gatherer societies. I'm guessing that includes settling down as 6 hours = 4 REM cycles and waking up during a REM cycle causes difficulty getting up. --- Scloud posted...
