I'm getting tired of shows that don't bother to adapt the whole source material. Especially if they don't even try to make up an ending and wind up with no closure at all; at least if they make their own ending then they're actually making an effort.

Eh, I'm sure some of those shows they intended to continue things down the road. At any rate, cliffhanger and unresolved endings for shows are a major nuisance outside anime as well. I started watching Residue on NFI not realizing that the show never got a second season and it ends with the heroine locked up in a facility, the cop framed for murder, no sign of other characters, and zero resolution on the mystery.
