9. Fran

First off, Team F-Bomb is doing HORRIBLY in this contest. Fang's the only one left, and she barely made it through this round instead of Fran. Second, I fully admit that a large part of Fran's appeal is the fact that I find her smokin' hot. Dat ass, tho'. But seriously, Fran is extremely attractive, but not actually because she's a furry character, at least not to me. I find her exotic features more appealing than anything, and it's actually the overt rabbit ears that diminish her sex appeal JUST a bit for me. The black leather thong and the amazon bow is a huge plus as well.

But yeah, as I said in my Freya write-up (and subsequently my Faris write-up), I tend to love most of the "older" female characters in the Final Fantasy franchise. As you can see from Faris, Celes, Tifa, Freya, Fran, and Fang all making an appearance in my top 25, that archetype always does well with me. I like a badass woman, alright? But it takes more than that to crack into my top ten, and what works in Fran's favor is that she plays amazingly well off of Balthier. Balthier is a charming motherfucker, but Fran works as a perfect, deadpan foil to his suave wit. Her ability to no-sell Vaan's clumsy attempts at humor is great, but her ability to shut down a great character in Balthier is what helps push her into that top tier. Throw in that awesome scene where she snaps and kicks the crap out of a room full of armored dudes, and I love what Fran brings to the table.
