Ran across a copy of Irredeemable vol5 today which, while it had its faults, was more than interesting enough to get me to read the wikipedia page to learn the story

I like some of the general concepts, which were ideas I'd kinda wanted to see played with in comics. (ie, the classic major, OP superhero goes rogue -- something *kinda* seen in Marvel with Sentry, as well as an alien invasion averted by making a sinister pact with the aliens.
