An Australian manwho brutally beat his 22-month-old stepson and watched him slowly dieexperienced some of the pain he inflicted on the toddler during a prison revenge attack.

Last week, William Andrew O'Sullivan, 37, was sentenced to nine years in prison for the manslaughter of his partner Anne Maree Lees 22-month-old son, Mason Lee, reported ABC News. During his trial, OSullivan pleaded guilty to four charges, including manslaughter and cruelty to a child under 16, before the Queensland Supreme Court in Brisbane.

While awaiting the outcome of his trial, OSullivan was attacked by two other inmates in the prison, his attorney Ruth OGorman told the court in Brisbane.

The manwho described himself as a junkiereportedly suffered a severely fractured skull after two other convicts stomped and kicked in his head. After the incident, OSullivan was taken to a hospital where he was held and treated for 13 days.
