He did the same thing with Mario/Sonic during Rivals where he kind of sort of implied they might not be allowed but after noms closed he said they weren't banned, they just didn't get enough noms. But of course they didn't. They didn't get added to the database, and no one was sure if they were allowed to begin with. Who knows.
