I watched it a long time ago, and I generally struggle to remember movies more than series (even Princess Mononoke, which I think I liked quite a bit, is mostly a blank in my mind). I do remember it mostly being pretty weird and skipping from plot point to plot point, but honestly Im not even sure how comedic/serious it was. The main thing I remember about it is a lengthy sequence where the characters are falling down a pit (or vortex or something), encountering all sorts of strange situations and people (I think they meet most of the cast of the movie). I believe I enjoyed this sequence quite a bit, since it kinda made everything make sense. The animation was pretty funky too.
