That's one you really should've experienced on the big screen for the unique atmosphere alone. Honestly I feel like Hereditary wouldn't be as good on a home setup, but that one isn't essential to see with an audience unlike AQP. I've never seen people try to stay so silent, and no one was moronic enough to bring their little kids either of the two times I saw it in the auditorium. Anyway I finally watched AHS: Apocalypse E1. Not the strongest start, but still decent and intriguing enough that I'll follow along with it. I mean I stuck it out through Cult and Hotel and holy crap those were awful. PrivateBiscuit1 posted... The new American Horror Story has some of the worst dialogue and characterization ever... They literally created a character and named him so they could do a line ~~"The stew is Stu!" This is the most idiotic hack writing alive.~~ That line was pretty awful, but it was cheesy enough that I laughed at it. I feel like Cult has examples of worse writing. PrivateBiscuit1 posted... The setting is good, but having ~~the headmistresses expose to us in the first episode their big evil plans for making up the rules and being needlessly nefarious was ridiculous.~~ Yeah that was a bit of a letdown. I feel like after the big "twist" in Hotel received such a lukewarm and well duh reception the writers may not have trusted themselves to drum up a decent mystery so they're making the plot explicit from the start. Obvies not gonna just Apocalypse off of one episode, but here's my ranking for the other 7 seasons: Asylum Murder House Roanoke (without the last act I'd rank this #1) Small gap Coven Freak Show Big gap Hotel Cult As a side note I love how Apocalypse's intro plays with your nostalgia by splicing in footage from the intros of Murder House, Coven, and Asylum as if to say... "Hey remember when this was good?" to the loyalists who've been watching since Season 1. Sadly it also gives me the feeling this might be the final season.
