Got my charge TM off an Absol duo so I got SB on that Mewtwo. Otherwise still don't have a Chansey from this event or either shiny. Kinda annoying since I like both Grimer and Geodude (and their evos).

I think I've caught three Chansey, but no shinies for this event. To be honest I never really liked how meta game is always compromised of the same dozen or so Pokemon; in Go's case Blissey, Snorlax, Slaking, Gyarados, etc. I wish other Pokemon were more viable as defenders, but if you actually want results you'll probably have to go with the top tiers (doubly so for Instinct, since you have much more opposition to deal with).

I wouldn't rank Gyarados all that highly. And the defense meta really just revolves around Blissey, Snorlax, and Chansey. Everything else tends to be fillers that compensate for or bolster the three. There are maybe two dozen Pokemon who are fairly viable as defenders, many of whom work best under certain contexts.

I do that for low-activity gyms. And, depending on the lineup, you can easily stall out a single attacker if they're trying to run through the whole gym instead of picking off one Pokemon at a time. Granted, if there are 3 players/accounts, you can just use a trick that bypasses a defender's ability to heal by running several lobbies at once.
